Project descriptions and process

November 30- December 4, Case Study Art Basel Miami Beach
October 6-9,Hospitality Suite, DiVA Art Fair, KUBE (Hotel) Passage Ruelle, Adjacent à Avenue Max Dormoy, Arr. 18th,
Paris.
Hospitality Suite is an experimental space for critcial inquiry and the public discussion of art. We occupy the public
space and discuss art with anyone who is in the defined space.
Art fairs: Who participates and who is left out? Who and what are sacrificed? Is everything for sale? Do dealers need
gallery spaces? What are the relationships? What is the role of the critic? Is there any role at all for critics and criticism?
Process: We took a room inside a hotel fair in NYC. We offered refreshments and talked to all comers about art.
Paris: We have occupied the Lounge at DIVA in the KUBE. We stayed there, drank champagne, looked at the art, and engaged
the audience and dealers in conversation. And wandered to FIAC and other spots in Paris.
Miami:Applied Scientific Method: Basel Miami and the other four fairs we will use various methods, such as, survey techniques,
time and motion studies, and observational methods in an attempt to understand and connect within the spaces.
NYC:Our project will have two parts. One will move between the two fairs in a limo--Critical Conversations in a Limo,
Special Project Amory Art Fair. The limo will drive between the Armory and DIVA. There will be different hosts--art historians,
critics and curators--who will guide the conversation.
In Part II: OUTSOURCED CRITICS, we have asked critics who are in various parts of the world to write a comment on fairs.
The topic for both was Inclusive and Exclusive, loosely.
